Report about the 5^th Family-Reunion of the Families von Arnswaldt, Arnswald and Arenswald at Hotel Linderhof in Erfurt-Linderbach

In September 2004 in Schmalkalden the family-meeting decided, that the 5th family-reunion should take place in the year 2006 in or near Erfurt. It was intended to visit the towns of Weimar and Erfurt.

64 persons announced to participate in the reunion. But, unfortunately, some persons were unable to come for reasons of health or others. The youngest visitors of our reunion were Coralie (2 months), Merlin Luka (4 years), Charlotte (6 years) and two young ladies, who accompanied their grand-parents to the reunion.

The well travelled guests came from Chicago, Lynwood/Wa USA and Frejus in South-France.

The reunion began and ended with proper Arnswald-weather, namely sunshine all the day.

Most of the Arnswalds arrived on Thursday and the reunion began with the greeting. One family from München and one from Hagen came for the first time.

On Friday, 8th of September, we at first visited a little church before we arrived at Weimar to see the imposing town of their sons Goethe and Schiller.

Every evening we met each other at the hotel, had a nice dinner and substantial conversations together.

On Saturday, 9th of September, we all made a trip by bus to the town of Erfurt. Erfurt is the greatest town in this region with the imposant cathedral situated on a hill.

In the afternoon the family-meeting took place with coffee and cake. The result of this meeting was that the next reunion shall take place in September 2008 (the 2nd or 3rd weekend) in or near Potsdam - near Berlin. All the family-members hope to see more and new persons with the Names von Arnswaldt, Arnswald and Arenswald.
